Ambode appoints acting provost for education college

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday approved the appointment of Dr. Nosiru Olajide Onibon as the acting provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) at Noforija in Epe.

A statement in Ikeja, the state capital, by Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh, said the appointment took immediate effect.

Onibon’s appointment followed the demise of the former Provost, Prof Olurotimi Sikiru Akeusola, this year.

Born on October 13, 1967, Onibon attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School at Epe (1974-1980) before proceeding to Alaro Community High School at Iraye-Oke, also in Epe (1980-1985).



He got his first degree in Arts, Arabic Language and Literature from the Lagos State University, (LASU) (1992), and MSc in International Relations (1998) and Arabic Language Studies (2000) from the University of Ibadan (UI) and LASU.

The acting provost holds a PhD in Arabic Language Studies from the International Islamic University in Malaysia and has published research publications and books.

Bank-Olemoh expressed confidence that with his qualifications and experience, Dr. Onibon will fit well into his new position and capably manage the affairs of the institution.
